Membership Benefits

24-Hour Kiosk

The 24-hour kiosk is located on the southwest corner of the Visitor Information Center. Members may advertise with their brochures or rack cards for a $150.00 annual fee. Your brochures will be available to the public even when the Visitor Information Center is closed.

 

Ambassador Visitations*

Twice a month the Chamber Ambassadors invite new and current members to promote their businesses via a featured Showcase.

 

“Biz Blurbs”

Biz Blurbs is an email communication channel to more than 1,000 business professionals. Biz Blurbs provides a tool for your business to share news and promotional information for only $5.00 per week for each submission. Nonprofit organizations receive free submissions based on availability.

 

Business Referrals

Through the customer referral service, the Chamber refers potential customers to Chamber members. Referrals occur via telephone, mail, email, and walk-in visitations.

 

“Chamber In Action”

Once a week a Chamber member business is featured on the Chamber’s talk show on KNPT radio station.

This program is "Temporarily Suspended" until further notice.

 

Information Display

Members may display their brochures or rack cards inside the Visitor Information Center. Members may also post flyers on the member events and announcements board in the Visitor Information Center.

 

Internet Exposure

As a member of the Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce, your business is listed on the Chamber’s website with a link to your website. The website receives more than 50,000 sight views annually. www.newportchamber.org

 

Mailing Labels

For $25.00, members may purchase a set of Chamber mailing labels for a one-time direct mail promotion of your business products and services.

 

Maps

Each year the Chamber publishes a city map with attractions and points of interest. More than 50,000 are distributed annually from the Visitor Information Center and through Newport businesses. Maps are available to Chamber members for their own distribution.

 

Membership Directory

Each year the Living and Doing Business Guide publication is widely distributed in the Newport and surrounding areas. Members receive high visibility to potential customers through both alphabetical and classified listings. Since Chamber members are encouraged to do business with other Chamber members, the Membership Directory is a valuable tool for the community.

 

Newsletter

Each month the Chamber newsletter, the Communique, is emailed to more than 1,000 leading businesses in Newport and surrounding areas. Reading the Communique keeps you informed of many activities made possible through your membership. New members are briefly profiled, and all members may submit newsworthy features, providing free advertising exposure. $10 per month per submission or $100 per year.

 

Outdoor Sign Board

For just $25.00 per week, members can place a 4’ x 8’ sign (supplied by member) on the outdoor Visitor Information Center sign board located directly on busy Highway 101 for vast visibility. Signage may be reserved for 2 week increments.

 

Sponsorship

Sponsorships are key to successful events. The Chamber offers sponsorship levels to meet everyone’s budget for a variety of events throughout the year. In return, the Chamber offers your business a wide range of marketing strategies that is far reaching and yields a long-term investment in the form of recognition and advertising. Some of the events you can sponsor include the Newport Seafood & Wine Festival, Auctions, Golf Tournament, and the Newport Cider Festival.

Affiliate Organization Memberships

The Chamber belongs to the following organizations, and by doing so, avails you to all their information and applicable benefits: Yaquina Bay Economic Foundation, Oregon Chamber of Commerce, Oregon Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus, National Tour Association, IPW, Oregon Coast Visitors Association, Travel Portland, Travel Oregon, Brand USA, and Go West Tours. Benefits include grants, trainings, and partnerships.

Annual Meeting & Awards Banquet

During the month of June each year the Chamber holds an annual meeting and awards banquet combining year-end reporting and awards with a fun year-end party. It is another chance to mingle with fellow members and enjoy an evening out. Invitations are sent to all Chamber members prior to the event announcing the specifics. This is a great way to nominate your business or another Chamber member for one of the special awards. There is a reservation fee to attend this event.

 

Business Advocacy

One of the most important functions of the Chamber is to provide a unified business voice as challenges and opportunities come to Newport. The Chamber is the voice for business advocacy in our community.

 

Business After Hours

These popular networking events are held the third Thursday of the month from 5:15 pm to 7:00 pm. These events bring together an average of 50 people. The cost to host a Business After Hours is $50.00 and is exclusive to Chamber members and invited guests. These events provide an opportunity to spotlight and promote your business and it’s a fun and friendly atmosphere for members to socialize and network. Business host provides light refreshments.

 

Calendar of Events

A community Calendar of Events can be found both on the Chamber w­­ebsite and in the Newport Brochure available at the Chamber’s Visitor Information Center. This may assist you in selecting a date for an event you may be hosting, or simply to stay informed as to what’s happening in the community. The Chamber is happy to include your event in the community Calendar of Events.

 

New Member Orientation

All new and current members in need of a refresher will be invited to a Chamber member orientation. The orientation will cover Chamber information, member benefits, programs, events, and how you can utilize your Chamber membership. Orientations are held quarterly.

 

ChamberMaster

ChamberMaster is the leading member management software solution provider of easy-to-use web-based management system to improve efficiency and effectiveness for chamber members. Members have the opportunity to offer member to member discounts and receive enhanced web page listings, priority placement, advertising upgrades, logo usage, and map links. ChamberMaster training webinars are offered three times a year. Fees apply for enhanced listings.

 

Committees

Members may participate in any of the Chamber’s active committees, covering a wide range of interests including: Seafood & Wine Festival, City Beautification, Hospitality, Ambassadors, Young Professionals, Auctions, and Newport Cider Festival. Other committees and task forces meet as needed.

 

Professional Staff

The management staff of the Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce are behind-the-scenes specialists with backgrounds in diverse areas such as event planning, development, advertising, community, tourism, and government relations. They have the knowledge and expertise needed to help you make the Newport area a better place to live and work.

 

Tax Deductibility

Your member investment may be deductible as a “necessary business expense,” however it is not deemed a charitable contribution.

 

Trade Shows

The Chamber Executive Director works hard to represent and advertise Newport and the surrounding area as a great place to live and visit, while attending several tradeshows and conferences worldwide. Member information is oftentimes displayed at these events.

 

Bi-Weekly Business Luncheons 

Luncheon forums are held every 2nd and 4th Friday at various locations throughout the Newport area with an average of 50 attendees. Time is available for networking, introductions and announcements. The weekly programs cover issues critical to businesses and residents. Chamber members are encouraged to suggest and provide luncheon presentations. Cost for lunch is $18 for Chamber members, $20 for non-members.

 

Luncheon Sponsorship 

Sponsorship includes pre-event advertising as the Luncheon Sponsor, 5 - 8 minutes on the mic to promote your business at the start of the luncheon program, and placement of printed materials at guest tables. Sponsorship fee is $75.
