Greater Newport Chamber Announces Leadership Lincoln Classes to Begin in September

NEWPORT, Oregon – The Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce and the Oregon Coast Community College announced today that applications for the 2010-2011 Leadership Lincoln Program are now being accepted.
The Leadership Lincoln Program has prepared some of our community's leaders for the past eighteen years, and has over 500 alumni. Now in its 19th year, the program brings together individuals who are involved in the surrounding communities and who want to develop their leadership abilities.
The ten month program starts on September 15th, and continues through June 2011. Participants will meet for sessions that will focus on issues relevant to Lincoln County: such as History and Culture, Business & Industry, Education and more.
Enrollment in the Leadership Lincoln Program is limited to 35 participants. For more information on the Leadership Lincoln Program, or to receive an application, contact the Newport Chamber of Commerce at 541-265-8801. Application deadline for the Leadership Lincoln Program is Wednesday, September 2, 2010.
The Chamber also announced that West Coast Bank in Newport is once again offering a scholarship to this year's program. The scholarship is available to any board member, director or employee of a local non-profit organization or community service agency. Applications for the scholarship are available by contacting the Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce at 541-265-8801, or the Oregon Coast Community College at 541-996-4919. This is the fifth year West Coast Bank has provided a scholarship for the Leadership Lincoln Program. Application deadline for the West Coast Bank Scholarship is noon Friday, August 20, 2010.
