NEWPORT, Oregon – The Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce Hospitality Committee is pleased to announce June 2010 Employee of the Month: Dave Young, Certified Chef for Bayside at South Beach Assisted Living Center.
"As Bayside's Chef, Dave sets an example for fellow employees as a role model by offering care and compassion, not only to the residents, but to staff and family members. He believes in working in a team environment, guides his staff of servers with instruction and clarity and his quality of preparing and serving meals is outstanding," according to David Smith, Residence Director of Bayside at South Beach.
Dave has been with Bayside for the past three years, and a Newport resident just as long. Because of his work ethic, compassion for the residents of Bayside @ South Beach and being such a valued team member, his supervisor believes that Dave is a prime example of what an Employee of the Month should be.

Dave will be included in the pool of 12 monthly winners who will be considered for the Employee of the Year, which will be selected by the Newport Chamber's Hospitality committee and announced at the "Know Your Newport" tradeshow and seminar next spring.
Great customer service is essential to Newport's economy, and the Chamber recognizes the important role of Newport area employees. Wondering how you can nominate one of your employees? Watch for the Nomination Form in the Chamber Newsletter; download a form from our website at www.newportchamber.org or contact Mike Yost at the Chamber office 541-265-8801.
