Newport Chamber Announces Board Candidates

NEWPORT, Oregon – The Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce announces that the ballots for Board of Directors for the fiscal year 2010-2011 have been sent out this week to Chamber members. This year, there are 13 candidates running for six two-year director positions.

The candidates are:
  • John Baker, President of Northwest Management,
  • Jeremy Burke, Publisher of The News-Times,
  • Kori Copp, Co-owner of Copp’s Doors and Woodworking,
  • Rich Evans, Secretary/Treasurer of E-2 Electric,
  • Patti Ferry, Assistant Branch Manager of OSU Federal Credit Union,
  • Frank Geltner, Director of the Ernest Bloch Legacy Foundation and owner of Newport Internet,
  • Burt Lippman, retired President of Technicolor/Vidtronics,
  • Helen Moore, Owner of Moore Accounting Solutions,
  • Milton Priesz, retired Newport business owner,
  • Catherine Rickbone, Executive Director for the Oregon Coast Council for the Arts,
  • Robert W. Smith, PhD, Instructor for the US Coast Guard College Vincennes University,
  • Larimee Ward, Activities Director of Outdoor Resorts Pacific Shores Motorcoach Resort, and
  • Chris Waugh, Owner of On the Fly, Inc.


Ballots will be accepted from Chamber members (one ballot per business/member) until May 10th at 5:00 pm. Directors will be introduced at the Chamber's Annual Awards Banquet on Friday June 18th at the Best Western at Agate Beach. The Business/Business Person of the Year will be announced that evening as well along with several other awards, and the winner of the Chamber Bucks $1000 raffle.
