Toledo Yaquina River Museum of Art 1st Weekend Toledo Exhibit

Maxine Moodie, Otis, will show hand made porcelain dolls depicting styles from the 1800's to the present at the Yaquina River Museum of Art, 151 NE Alder Street in the School House, Toledo, opening May 2 - 3 noon to 5:00pm for 1st Weekend Toledo and continuing each weekend in May.

Moodie has constructed the dolls over a period of 35 years, building each doll including insertion of eyes, application of hair, stuffing the body, hand painting of skin and features, sewing clothing and costumes and working on display modes.

Baby dolls to Father Christmas are varied in character as provided by the artist. An "in progress" doll with the tools used to work will be shown and Ms. Moodie will be present to discuss her design methods Sunday, May 3 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at an Oregon Wine and Cheese reception to meet the artist to which the public is cordially invited.

The Moodie Collection of Porcelain Dolls is available for purchase and is offered through a Silent Auction with proceeds to benefit the Art Education Program of the Museum providing sponsorship to art teachers in our local area; art workshops and art exhibits to the public.
